The Accommodations & Absence Management Program Manager oversees the Accommodations and Absence Management Section of the Human Resources (HR) Unit. This position is responsible for performing high level human resources functions and carrying out responsibilities as related to accommodations and absence management functions. The Manager provides guidance and consults on a broad range of accommodations and absence management issues including relevant ADOT policies, Arizona state statutes and federal rules/laws and regulations pertaining to accommodations and absence management functions.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Directs and manages the Accommodations and Absence Management Section to administer: Processing of internal employees'
accommodations requests under The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, The ADA Amendments Act of 2008, The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and Title VII (Religious accommodation), to ensure compliance with federal and state rules, regulations, and laws.
Directs and manages the processing of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), and extended medical leaves including medical leaves without pay (LWOP), light-duty requests, modified duty, temporary work assignments (TWA), return to work (RTW), long-term disability (LTD), medically related separations, and Benefits Billing.
Assists the Accommodations and Absence Management Section in processing accommodation cases and absence management functions as necessary and required. Deliver training and provide guidance to supervisors and managers of all levels on accommodations and absence management functions and concerns. Interprets FMLA rules to include Paid Parental Leave (PPL).

Five (5) or more years of working experience in HR, civil rights; equal employment opportunity and compliance. Three (3) or more
years of professional level experience providing guidance and training in the area of ADA, PWFA and Title VIl compliance, Fair Labor
Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, TWA/Modified Duty. Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to
provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
