Performs payroll and travel functions, including processing and reviewing payroll transactions, verifying timesheets, and auditing records, running reports and processing employee & travel reimbursements in compliance with State of Arizona policies. Process and resolve payroll, travel & employee reimbursements, workers compensation and separation of employment. Identifies and corrects discrepancies and payroll project errors; and supports system troubleshooting within AZ360 to ensure accurate and timely processing. Provides backup payroll support and may travel as required. Remain current on changing processes to the travel software and travel policies. Apply subject matter expertise in Travel policies, State of Arizona issued Travel Cards and performing travel audits.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (Two (2) days per week in the office/hoteling).

Applies technical accounting principles to process, review, and analyze payroll transactions, including overpayments, deductions, and adjustments within AZ360 and assist customers.
As subject matter expert, process and audit travel and employee reimbursement requests for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state policies and assist customers.
Analyzes documents and transactions to determine causes of payroll, travel, workers comp and separation related errors and provide resolutions.

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
