This position will be responsible for Accounts Payable; Payrolls; Federal Grants; Cost Recovery; Fixed Assets and Financial Assurance Reviews. Responsible to make sure the invoices process timely; payrolls to process bi-weekly. You will ensure the timely and accurate management of federal grants and the submission of Federal Financial Reports. Approve grant reimbursement through an electronic fund transfer using the ASAP system. Ensure daily grant expenses and revenues are accurate. Approve internal transfers (IET), transfers within the agency and between agencies (ITI and ITA) using the AFIS system. Analyze financial information and supervise the preparation of financial reports to determine or maintain record of fixed assets, liabilities, tax liabilities or other financial activities within an organization. Provide financial assurance analysis and oversight. Supervise the completion of cost recovery billing and the preparation of the “closing package” utilized in preparing the statewide comprehensive annual financial report. Ensure monthly financial review of General Ledger and Budget, Grants, Payroll and Fixed Assets is completed within assigned deadline. Develop financial accounting reports to track expenditures for all programs. Review and/or conduct the reconciliation of reports and financial data, identifying and correcting the error monthly.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts, practices, methods and techniques of government accounting; internal control structures, and fiscal management,
• Comprehensive knowledge of reference materials such as federal regulations, Arizona Revised Statutes, applicable agency manuals, and policies and procedures,
• Working knowledge of financial research methodologies,
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices; the analysis and reporting of financial data; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics.
• 2 years’ experience in personnel, budget analysis, accounting, data processing or resource allocation
