The Accountant 2 position reconciles revenue transactions between the front-end customer service cash system, automated tax accounting system, and financial accounting system.
The position analyzes/completes payments, deposits, adjustments, transfers, and other financial documents as needed while utilizing an automated tax accounting system, financial accounting system, and other applications. Completes Attorney General payments along with analysis of spreadsheets to reconcile.
This position will also be responsible for composing correspondence dealing with revenue information which may call for considerable discretion and judgment, reply to inquiries, and present or request information to inside and outside customers. Helps agency personnel in locating payments, refunds, and any other related information within the automated tax accounting and financial accounting systems.
Assists in the development and implementation of identifying any possible lean process improvements within Revenue Accounting. The position will help the team integrate Lean methods into the overall continuous improvement strategy of the unit and division.
The position will also review and analyze supporting data utilized in the preparation of a comprehensive annual financial report, agency reports, and/or annual reports. Analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating tax accounting and financial accounting reporting systems, procedures, policies, and methods.
Performs related work as required.
Candidates for this position will be required to submit Tax Filing Records, Employment Verification Check, and Fingerprints that will be used to check criminal history records from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
