The Accountant II analyzes/completes payments, deposits, adjustments, transfers, and other financial documents as needed, it also tracks payments received by the agency. Performs financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking. Analyzes financial data and create financial models for decision support, monitoring of expenditures and revenues. Accountant II also monitors funds, appropriation balances, and revenue collections. Reconciling and analyzing encumbrances and expenditures. This positions assists with developing and implementing reconciliation processes for expenditures and revenues. It reviews current practices, identifies risk, recommends solutions and develops standard work and training materials. This position also plays a role in examining various sources of data to determine trends and identify cost drivers and incorporate those findings into financial analyses.

Candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal history investigation. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
