Your contribution:
• Outstanding Service: Provide the best assistance to veterans to improve their quality of life.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in facility meetings, training sessions, and the implementation of the Arizona Management System (AMS) to achieve continuous improvement and efficiency
• Team Collaboration: Work with other professionals to become a benefits subject matter expert (SME) while improving your knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Receives, reviews, and processes agency vendor invoices for payment (including transfers) in accordance with SAAM and agency policies & procedures.
• Verifies documentation to include purchase orders, receipts and delivery slips.
• Reconciles vendor statements to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of the transactions.
• Reviews bi-weekly Employee Time Entry.
• Processes payroll adjustments, ASRS and FMLA forms, direct deposits and handwrites.
• Responds to and resolves payroll inquiries.
• Assists with payroll reports and audits.
• Processes agency travel and employee reimbursement claims in accordance with State and agency policies & procedures in HRIS, AFIS and/or any other travel system, as required.
• Coordinates with agency staff, vendors, stakeholders and other State agencies in replying to inquiries, resolving discrepancies and processing accounting and payroll transactions including inter- and intra-agency transfers.
• Processes deposits, both physical cash/check and on-line/EFT, for the agency through the State Treasurer's Office using AFIS and according to SAAM and agency policies and procedures.
• Maintains spreadsheets and logs, participates in FSD staff meetings and Arizona Management System meetings and assists in developing Standard Work as assigned and directed.
• Files accounting and payroll transaction records in electronic and paper format as needed, required, and directed.
• Processes invoices through the procurement system.
• Verifies accounting line information prior to PO being issued.
• May assist with fixed assets inventory, surplus property and related duties

The ideal candidate will possess experience in governmental accounting and a background in employee training or cross-training initiatives.
This position may require driving in the course of conducting State business. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employee who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks and must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-1 0-207.11).
