Provide Payroll services support by serving as the primary point of contact for employee and Agency payroll inquiries. Perform payroll and accounting functions including payroll amendments, direct deposits, federal and state tax processing, employee reimbursements, incentive payments, payroll reporting, travel reimbursement processing, ASRS ending payroll verifications, payroll communications, and employee time record approvals while delivering high-quality customer service.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office).

Serve as the primary point of contact for Payroll services by responding to employee and Agency inquiries, researching payroll issues, maintaining the payroll mailbox, answering phone and email inquiries, resolving customer concerns, and providing timely, accurate and professional customer service.
Utilizing automated accounting system (AZ360) to review time and attendance reports to determine payroll amendments. Process amendments, direct deposits, federal and state tax changes, and any payroll entries while ensuring compliance with payroll policies and procedures.
Utilizing automated accounting system (AZ360) to process merit and spot incentives, generate recurring payroll reports to support payroll operations, compliance and decision making. Audit and process or approve travel reimbursement Eforms, assist employees with travel inquiries, and ensure reimbursements are processed accurately and timely.
Process Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) ending payroll verifications and compile required documentation to process.

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
