The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an excellent communicator to fill the Accounting Specialist position. This position is responsible for processing Cost of Manufacturing/Quotes and Intra-Company order requests, inventory reviews, product line costing, and reconciliation of various accounts for Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI).

- Processes cost of manufacturing/quotes and intra-company order requests
- Collects and reviews data for costing ACI product estimates
- Monitors, collects, analyzes and recommends adjustments to inventory balances for subsequent inclusion in financial statements
- Prepares reconciliations of various inventory-related accounts and journalizing
- Travels to perform audits at other ACI shops
- Supervises and directs clerks regarding inventory processes and procedures
- Processes accounts receivable and payables, purchasing and payroll
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Inventory processes, principles and procedures
- Basic math
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Computers and various software including Microsoft Office and Google suites
Skill in:
- Analysis and interpretation of inventory information
- Written and verbal communications
- Leadership techniques
Ability to:
- Calculate, analyze and reconcile quantitative data
- Apply accounting, mathematical and system concepts
- Work in a correctional environment
- Learn and adhere to ADCRR policies, procedures and personnel rules
- Lean Estate Planning Institute of Collaborative Resources (EPICOR) Kinetic software and other accounting systems
- Minimum of 12 semester hours in accounting courses, plus experience in a manufacturing and inventory environment
- Formal education in math and business as well as accounting and experience in a business environment
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.
