Job Summary:

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Child & Family Division/Civil & Criminal Litigation and Advice Section is seeking an Administrative Assistant I. This position will provide administrative support to the Office Administrator, Legal Counsel, and Legal Support Staff.

Job Duties:

The position will coordinate with the Section's Office Administrator to increase the efficiencies of the administrative functions within the section. The position will perform a variety of administrative tasks such as picking up and distributing the section's mail, filing, timely scanning and dissemination of information to the appropriate staff, copying, and data entry into the case management system Legal Files, and responsible for routine correspondence, reports. The position is also responsible for organizing and maintaining the data related to their case assignments, which includes validating data, calendars, deadlines, and assignments. Regular Attendance is required in this position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of the principles and practices of administration. Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office software. Ability to apply administrative operations under limited supervision. Ability to analyze and resolve average to difficult problems. Ability to prioritize. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to plan, analyze a variety of activities and establish appropriate priorities. Skill in oral and written communications. Experience in compiling data and incorporation of data in written reports. Perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy within stringent deadlines. Prioritize effectively. Demonstrate clear communication orally and in writing. Ability to learn basic business law. Ability to work with interruptions and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to work within stringent deadlines to complete work assignments. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to perform detailed work in a high degree of accuracy and exercise good judgment in safeguarding sensitive and confidential information. The ability to generate databases/spreadsheets and word processing documents as desired.

Selective Preference(s):

Two years responsible experience in a position requiring skill in oral and written communication, initiative, judgment and independence on the performance of duties; or an Associates of Arts degree from an accredited college or university and one year of the required experience; or a bachelor's degree from and accredited college or university.

• Travel may be required for this position. A valid Arizona Driver’s License is required, along with consent to have your driving record run periodically.
