*Eligible for 20% Critical Service Premium Pay Stipend effective through June 24, 2022
($36,000.00 - $37,979.00)

Job Summary:

LOCATION ALERT: This position is located at the Arizona State Prison Complex - Lewis which is located between Buckeye and Gila Bend; this is 55 miles from central Phoenix.
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. This position performs a variety of complex administrative tasks to support the Administrator and staff. This position is also responsible for complex requests which require general office duties, research, analysis, budgeting, and coordination at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Lewis.

Job Duties:

- Performs general office duties
- Researches and gathers data for preparation of various reports and special project
- Prepares a variety of correspondence and responses
- Responds to related questions from the public and staff
- Investigates complaints and resolves problems or refers to the appropriate area
- Reviews and monitors amounts expended from the budget to assure that expenditures do not exceed funds available
- Attends meetings and takes minutes
- Organizes and files confidential and administrative files
- Maintains and operates general office equipment
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Administrative management practices
- General procurement rules and procedures
- Business English, spelling, grammar usage, and filing systems
- Proper telephone etiquette, dealing with staff, inmates, and the public
- Personal computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Department policies and procedures

Skill in:
- The use of a personal computer
- Operation of general office equipment
- Data entry and report preparation
- Formatting difficult and complex reports
- Writing correspondence
- Training lower-level staff
- Written and verbal communications
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

Ability to:
- Plan, analyze, coordinate, and prioritize work
- Maintain confidentiality
- Research, collect, and organize data
- Multi-task and work in a business/professional environment
- Work in a prison environment

Selective Preference(s):

- Two (2) years of administrative experience reporting to a Manager or Administrator
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Google Suite

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
