The Administrative Services Officer will provide support to the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) by performing administrative services including planning, communication, budgetary, accounting, purchasing, grant administration, travel arrangements and reimbursement, and other related functions.

Job Duties:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position will be responsible for handling the EPCRA Spill Line to maintain compliance with ARS 49-128, and disseminating information of environmental spills to the appropriate program(s) within ADEQ.
  • Grant Writing and Administration 
  • This position is expected to attend and assist Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs) in maintaining compliance with ARS 49-124, and abiding by public meetings laws as a representative of Arizona State Emergency Response Commission (AZSERC).
  • This position will also assist with administration of the State Emergency Response and Recovery Plan - Emergency Support Function 10 (ADEQ is the primary agency).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Skills in interpersonal, written and verbal communication; critical thinking; organization; project prioritization and time management
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or other related fields. Master's degree substitutes for 1 year of experience
  • 2 years’ experience in budget analysis, accounting, data processing or resource allocation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, or the ability to learn, emergency response planning and processes, EPRCA Tier II requirements, reference materials such as federal regulations, Arizona Revised Statutes, funding mechanisms for grants and fee based finances; and the State's procurement portal and budget and expenditure tracking system
