The candidate in this position will work in a group setting with other AMA staff to implement the management of data as it relates to Conveyances, conduct research and understand current laws and regulations regarding water supply and utilization in Arizona and assist with any other AMA related tasks and responsibilities, including annual reports, data entry and quality control, customer service, etc.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the organization and tracking of groundwater right conveyance applications.
Updating groundwater rights validations and ownership information in ADWR databases.
Working with the Conveyance Coordinator to identify application information that needs further inspection or development.
No experience working with water rights is required; training will be provided.
The ideal candidate should have:
Candidates must be enrolled in school and pursing a degree in Water Resource Management, Geology, Geography, or related field.
Gain valuable experience working in a State Agency and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement system (ASRS). Please note, enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment. The current contribution rate is 12.41%.
