The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Applications Developer Senior (Senior MuleSoft Developer). The individual in this position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining MuleSoft integration solutions using the Anypoint platform. It includes developing APls, designing integration flows, and ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of applications. They will also assist with InRules designing, developing, and maintaining rules using the InRule platform. This position will require on-call support.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Develop new applications to meet functional and technical designs.
● Fixes and development changes to applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines.
● Develop RAML specifications, configure API gateways.
● Engages with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contributes to the completion of functional specifications.
● Creates deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle, such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation.
● Prepare technical documentation on application specifications.
● Performance tunes, reviews, and recommends improvements to existing codes.
● Reviews and recommends improvements to existing architecture.
● Supports production systems; analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner; resolves end-user service requests as assigned.
● Work to analyze, debug, and resolve defects in applications.
● Assist in interviewing and training new hires and provide guidance to Junior Developers when needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
● Thorough working knowledge of multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, multiple development platforms, and systems integration.
● Understanding of Mule ESB, Anypoint Studio, API Manager, and other platform components.
● Experience with CI/CD pipelines using AZURE DEVOPS.
● Integration patterns (message queue, event-driven architecture).
● Familiarity with various integration patterns (e.g., message queues, event-driven architectures).
● Expertise in working with JSON, XML, and other data formats.

Skills In:
● Interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and strong customer service skills. Writing and executing unit tests using MUnit.
● Proficient in using Anypoint Studio, CloudHub, DataWeave and other platform components.
● Batch processing and handling large volumes of data.
● Monitoring and optimizing MuleSoft application performance.

Ability to:
● Develop and write technical documentation and evaluate and test emerging technologies.
● Apply creative solutions to business problems to ensure business needs are most effectively met.
● Learn and develop in new programming languages, APIs, and platforms.
● Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization and balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
● Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly, and work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
● MuleSoft Certification.
● Knowledge of/and experience working with InRule.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree plus 8 or more years of programming and analysis experience or equivalent experience.
• Employees shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
