Job Summary:

Under the guidance and direction of the Audit and Compliance Section Manager and/or Director, the Auditor II is responsible for performing intermediate-level auditing and compliance review activities with a focus on lease agreements, insurance requirements, and billing accuracy. This position determines compliance of Certificates of Insurance, identifies discrepancies, analyzes results and recommends corrective action(s) to be taken with respect to the auditee.

Upon successful completion of the required training and probationary period, this position may offer the ability to work a hybrid remote work schedule, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona. Remote work is a management option and not an employee entitlement or right. An agency may terminate a remote work agreement at its discretion.

Job Duties:

• Audit insurance certificates and endorsements to ensure compliance with lease requirements and agency standards.
• Read and interpret lease agreements to confirm compliance with contractual terms.
• Identify discrepancies, variances, and non-compliance issues; recommend and track corrective actions.
• Communicate with internal teams and external customers to resolve compliance and billing issues.
• Accurately process billing according to the lease agreement if needed.
• Assist with the development of audit procedures, checklists, and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support special projects, process improvements, and risk management initiatives as assigned.
• Read and interpret state and local laws, rules and regulations, and agency policy and procedures
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- The principles and practices of auditing
- State laws, rules, and regulations
- Real Estate terminology, concepts, and practices
- Lease language as it pertains to revenue and insurance.

Skilled In:
- Understanding and interpreting contractual language
- Accurately analyzing and interpreting financial data
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail and time management
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Intermediate level in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar)

Ability To:
- Read, interpret, and apply lease language accurately
- Listen effectively and convey information clearly and professionally verbally and written
- Build effective working relationships with a variety of customers, government officials, coworkers, etc.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet specified deadlines
- Plan, analyze, and coordinate activities
- Establish priorities and develop effective operating procedures
- Utilize and learn various software programs -Research and resolve complex problems
- Apply Department policies, procedures, and the State Personnel Rules
- Recognize and maintain confidentiality and responded appropriately
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills

Selective Preference(s):

Minimum of 2 years of auditing, compliance, or related professional experience; prior experience with lease administration or insurance compliance is preferred.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete required driver training. (refer to Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
