Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), Benefits Services Division, is seeking a Benefits Operations Analyst to provide crucial systems support and functional expertise for our benefits-related systems and processes. In this role, you'll act as a key liaison between our Member Services and Plan Administration teams, AZ360, retirement systems, and various state agency representatives. You'll also be responsible for working with and supporting vendor reports and other AZ360 system users, ensuring smooth and efficient benefits operations.

Job Duties:
  • Supports the organization's key benefits business processes and applications, primarily AZ360
  • Uses research and functional expertise of benefits systems and processes to conduct analysis, identify root cause of problems and resolve issues
  • Serves as a liaison between internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Prepares and maintains documentation, standard work and end user training materials
  • Provides end user support and assistance in using the benefits system and performs centralized transactions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Principles and concepts of varied employment benefits, eligibility rules, and HR systems
  • AZ360 systems and related benefits modules at the subject matter expert level
  • Research, problem-solving, data analysis, and report generation
  • Understanding of State of AZ laws, relevant regulations, statutes, and trends in benefits

Skills in:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written communications
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and setting priorities in a remote work environment
  • Extracting data, organizing data, and preparing reports

Ability to:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Handle inquiries in a professional, effective, and efficient manner
  • Evaluate and improve processes using AMS
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
Selective Preference(s):
  • Prior experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of benefits eligibility rules, policies, and procedures
  • Understanding of various types of employee benefits, including:
    • Medical
    • Dental
    • Vision
    • Life Insurance
    • Disability Insurance
    • Retirement Pensions
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Background and reference check, including state and federal criminal records fingerprint check
