Job Summary:

This position is mainly responsible for maintaining State owned facilities which Includes physical structures, mechanical, electrical systems, and utilities; requesting purchase orders for repairs and product accordingly; maintaining documentation associated with time keeping. This position will work Independently with limited supervision. Will be responsible for communicating, maintaining effective organization and management of work product for internal and external customers. This position may be asked to accommodate emergency after hours work. Lead and train co-workers when applicable, assuring work product is compliant. This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle. Employment is contingent upon passing a physical examination.

Job Duties:

Maintain & repair physical building structures, HVAC systems, electrical systems, water systems & associated equipment.

Diagnose repair issues. Research best solutions for making repairs. Oversee contractor based projects. Professional customer contact and interaction.

Preventative maintenance and building inspections; filters, lights, flooring, plumbing fixtures, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Common and specialized tools.
• Equipment and materials related to the project.
• Blueprints, sketches and structural components of buildings and related utilities services systems.
• All applicable building codes.
• Methods and practices involved In remodeling and construction of buildings.
• Estimating and ordering materials.
• Building system codes, OSHA requirements as well as safe working techniques and procedures
• Google Workspace.

Skill in:
• Hand/ eye coordination
• Safety utilizing power equipment and diagnostic equipment
• Prioritizing assignments in order of importance
• Communication and organization
• Safe working techniques

Ability to:
• Work efficiently with computers
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Develop and maintain interpersonal relationships

Selective Preference(s):

One (1) year experience equivalent to a Building Maintenance Technician

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
