The Arizona Pioneers' Home is a continuing care retirement home operated and funded by the State of Arizona. The Home provides care and services to residents living independently, as well as, those requiring personal, assisted living and intermediate care. APH was opened in 1911, for our Arizona pioneers and disabled miners to deliver the optimal physical, emotional and spiritual care in a historic home like environment. BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

Hourly Pay:  $12.80

Grade: 12

This position will remain open until filled

Job Summary:

The person in this position will perform routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and a high emphasis on grounds maintenance.

The person will also perform scheduled preventative maintenance, moving of furniture and belongings under the supervision of the Physical Plant Director and with direction from higher classification Maintenance staff.

Job Duties:

•Routine maintenance tasks independently and/or assisting other maintenance staff

•Assistance to other department staff as needed

•Attend training sessions and staff meetings

•Grounds maintenance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

•Basic construction, preventative, and grounds care methods

•Occupational safety guidelines

Skills:

•Application of basic construction, preventative maintenance, and grounds care methods

Ability:

•Communicate with others of different ethnic, cultural, religious, and social backgrounds in a professional manner with specific regard to customer service

•Apply safe, efficient, and productive skills to basic construction, preventative maintenance, and ground care methods

•Work varied hours and weather conditions

Selective Preference(s):

•The ideal candidate would have good knowledge, skills, and ability with grounds care methods and equipment

•The ideal candidate would also have KSA's in patching and painting of varied wall medias

Pre-Employment Requirements:

•Valid motor vehicle drivers license
