Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Human Resources Division (HRD) is seeking a dedicated and analytical Business Analyst with a passion for optimizing HR Information Systems (HRIS). This pivotal role focuses on the application administration, support, and continuous improvement of our HRIS, ensuring that the system effectively meets the evolving needs of the State of Arizona.

As a Business Analyst, you will act as a subject matter expert in maintaining data integrity, conducting system tests for changes, and analyzing data flows to identify process improvement opportunities. You will be instrumental in implementing system enhancements and developing streamlined processes to maximize system capabilities. Collaborating closely with the HRIS technical team and other HRIS business units, your contributions will guarantee system stability and performance, providing robust support to our HR operations.

Job Duties:
  • Manage and support the absence management module of HRIS. Including analyzing annual and sick leave plans. Managing and redefining absence management employee groups when new business requirements are presented by stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate changes that need to be made to employees annual leave plans. Pro-actively engage with agencies, statewide to identify absence management issues and collaborate on a well defined resolution
  • Leading the way for the team on central HRIS transactions such as mass loads for our agency partners. Working with agency points of contact to rectify mass load errors
  • Creating process levels and departments for agencies using the established table maintenance process. Additionally, this position performs other submitted tickets that require research and execution
  • Troubleshooting complex history correction tickets
  • Assist entry level analysts with creating standard work for common history corrections
  • Identifying trends in the type of corrections the central team is receiving and providing keying guidance to agencies to reduce the number of history corrections
  • Creating test plans, test scripts and leading HR testing when there is a change to the HRIS system. Assist in maintenance of data integrity in HRIS across all HR modules
  • Ability to write SQL queries to pull large data sets for data analysis to problem solve
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • HRIS system
  • Understanding of State Absence Management and FMLA practices
  • Excel and AMS
  • SQL
  • Business process analysis

Skills in:

  • Intermediate analytical skills to evaluate current processes, gather documentation and suggest a more efficient business process
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills while working collaboratively across organizations

Ability to:

  • Effectively translate business requirements into a FDD and training materials
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 5 years of experience in business analysis (or equivalent experience).
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Background and reference check, including state and federal criminal records fingerprint check
