This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangement).

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst is responsible completing projects related to the creation and maintenance of Financial ETL processes, Reporting, Data Visualization, and System Integrations. This position will work closely with the Business and Finance team, documenting requirements, specifications, and standard procedures for using financial data.

Job Duties:

This position creates and maintains financial data ETL processes using multiple applications (SSMS, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) as well as supporting all agency financial reporting mechanisms. Use standard templates to accurately and concisely document requirements, specifications. Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, and conformity to standards. Act as a data custodian for the financial data flow processes, and perform independent validation of financial data sets against systems of record to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with financial policies. Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards in Tableau, Anaplan and various reporting mechanisms.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of SQL development processes, data validation techniques and data governance principles.
  • Knowledge of basic finance principles and processes, fiscal management, budgetary control, financial planning and management, forecasting techniques and resource allocation methodologies.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining ETL processes using SQL Server Management Studio, and Tableau.
  • Skilled in Microsoft and Google suite including Excel, Google Sheets, Word applications.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and communicate the outcome of the analysis.
  • Ability to have a high level of attention to detail.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor of Science in Public Management and Policy, Data Analysis, or related field
  • 2 years data analyst experience
