Job Summary:

• Acts as the CTE Methods of Administration (MOA) coordinator as a part of the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) monitoring/compliance activities by completing on site monitoring related to OCR requirements and required reports
• Frequent in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position.

The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

 

Job Duties:

• Provide technical support and oversight of assigned CTE funded grants
• Assist in training, grant application development, processing, review and monitoring to ensure compliance
• Responsible for providing technical assistance in the planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of CTE funded programs
• Review, approve, and manage assigned LEA Improvement plans
• Acts as the CTE Methods of Administration (MOA) coordinator as a part of the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) monitoring/compliance activities as outlined by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the accessibility standards
• Complete on-site monitoring at secondary schools and community colleges receiving Carl D. Perkins funding
• Conduct interviews with staff and complete a physical review of local facilities
related to OCR requirements

• Facilitates exit interviews, post monitoring, complete reports summarizing local findings and provides technical assistance as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
• Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with
Disabilities Act of 1990 and the accessibility standards
• Provide leadership/technical assistance to secondary, postsecondary and state operated facilities
• Federal and state rules and regulations related to grant funding
• A bachelor’s degree in education, Public Administration or in a related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required.

Selective Preference(s):

• Preference will be given to those applicants with Career and Technical Education, knowledge and experience working in K-12 education, and/or K-12 special education.

Retirement:
