The Arizona Department of Correction, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Chaplain II who collaborates with subordinate Chaplains, manages, coordinates, develops, plans and organizes all religious programs at the Arizona State Prison Complex - Eyman.

- Supervises, coordinates, directs, develops and conducts a wide variety of religious programs and services within the institution
- Develops and manages religious programs and ensures activities are conducted in accordance with ADCRR policies and procedures
- Interviews, counsels and/or responds to inmate inquiries and letters regarding religious activities/services
- Coordinates religious diet program including verification of eligibility and develops tracking mechanisms
- Supervises subordinates Chaplains
- Administers work evaluations, delegates assignments, coordinates leave to ensure coverage, develops work schedules, verifies work hours, provides mentoring and - guidance, recommends hiring and disciplinary actions
- Attends and/or conducts meetings, training and conferences
- Sits on committees and boards as directed
- Develops positive relationships with local clergy and faith-based organizations
- Recruits religious volunteers as needed
- Coordinates background clearance for religious visitors
- Coordinates issuance of volunteer identification cards
- Develops budget requests and recommendations for material/supply purchases
- Maintains and develops a variety of reports and documentation
- May be required to drive on state business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Prefer Master’s Degree from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited seminary or school of theology with a major in psychology, religion, pastoral care, religious counseling or related field and two (2) years supervisory experience
- One (1) or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
