Job Summary:

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Civil Litigation Division/Bankruptcy and Collections Enforcement Section is seeking a Collector III to provide support to the Collection Enforcement Unit, with case openings and ongoing case management as it relates to collection of debt owed to the State.

Job Duties:

This position will handle and manage a high volume of administrative tasks for the collection team within CEU, assisting with case openings and case closings, skip tracing, drafting of supporting documents, setting up files within the Case Management System, as well as creating physical files for all new case referrals. Also maintaining the Case Referral Log, and opening and processing mail.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

* Knowledge of concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures of American law
* Knowledge of legal forms, documents and notices sufficient to complete them from marginal notes, standard paragraphs, verbal/written instructions, and/or similar forms
* Knowledge of general legal collection case management, procedures and processes
* Knowledge of general skip tracing methods and procedures
* Knowledge of machines and technology used within an office and collection environments
* Excellent oral and written skills
* Skills in authoring original letters, e-mail and other correspondence and communication with accuracy, professionalism, and clarity
* Skills in using federal and state laws, statutes, legal document, and other collection-related records to effectively advance programs and projects
* Skills in analyzing and determining optimal solutions to problems and complex cases.
* Skills in the use of technology, including Word, Excel, and Case Management Systems, to produce a high-volume of accurately created documents and to accurately and timely maintain a high-volume of electronic records
* Ability to demonstrate a professional, positive and supportive attitude in a work environment that has changing priorities
* Ability to work with office machines, equipment and technology to produce the required work
* Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced work environment
* Ability to speak in a professional, articulate, and concise manner with all interested parties
* Ability to obtain desired results working independently and using advanced problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage workload and case prioritization to maximize results.
* Ability to use good judgment to determine optimal techniques to advance programs and projects to completion and to properly manage confidential matters

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate will have three or more years of legal secretary/administrative services experience. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of legal and collection processes.
