Job Summary:

The Arizona State Board for Charter Schools (Board) is seeking a Community and Project Program Manager to be responsible for facilitating outreach and communication to the charter school community, the public, and parents on a variety of topics consistent with the priorities and functions of the Board and to work side-by-side with staff in project management and policy development.

The ideal candidate is an engaging, empathetic communication style based on natural warmth and enthusiasm. A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential for this role. This person should have a sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated for designing and implementing interactive communication and decision-making processes. We are looking for someone with the knowledge and skills in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential. The job requires a high degree of “selling”, initiating projects and processes beyond established organization practices will often require training and developing others, and enlisting their support by using a “selling” rather “telling” communication style.

Job Duties:

Under administrative direction, the individual will plan, organize, coordinate and direct the activities for outreach for educating the community on Arizona's charter schools. This position would; develop and implement overall community outreach systems, programs, policies and procedures and connect students, families and the public to community resources.

• Lead in the creation and implementation of the Board's community and communication strategies and planning. Schedule plan, and support community-based events and partner events.

• Assist in the development of professional development and partnership trainings.

• Partner and facilitate collaboration among parental and community stakeholder groups through community outreach. Assist with transitions for schools that are closing, transitioning leadership, or transitioning ownership, where appropriate.

• Maintain external affairs schedule and team planning documents. Ensure community voices are represented in the Board's authorizing practices. Work in collaboration with Board staff to advance cross-team priorities and functions in support of the organization's mission.

• Organize, maintain, and implement (internal and external) projects related to the strategic initiatives managed by the Assistant Director of Strategic Development. Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed.

• Provide proactive and organized administrative support by preparing resources and materials for ongoing projects. Compile various data relevant to the needs of the Board and its strategic initiatives.

• English grammar and business writing, including proper email etiquette
• Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other productivity tools
• Knowledge about Arizona charter schools and school choice

• Create surveys that address the needs of the Board and its community
• Conduct research and use analytical processes to identify issues and trends

Selective Preference(s):

• Associate's Degree or higher
• Knowledge of K-12 education, school choice and Arizona charter schools
