Job Summary:

This position, the Resource and Referral Unit Supervisor is responsible for managing the referral and resource unit for (Maricopa, South, or Northeast/Northwest region). The Resource and Referral Unit Supervisor works under direction of the Program Manager of the Statewide Resource and Placement Units, following established policies and procedures and is responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and quality of work products. This position is responsible for engagement with providers related to issues of referral assignments and supply and demand. This position oversees regional issues and serves as a liaison to Contract Compliance issues relating to supply/demand for the region, referral process, and creating of service approvals. This position manages the teams that provide support and services to Regional staff and DCS providers. This position assigns work and evaluates performance of subordinates. This position regularly interacts with Regional staff from multiple departments providing technical assistance, gathers information, solves problems, and improves procedures.

Job Duties:
  • Provide management, oversight, and day-to-day direction to the resource and referral team. Provides oversight of statewide practices to the team, as it relates to client service approvals. Provides support and guidance to subordinates and field staff as it relates to client services. Provides training and support to help develop and improve staff's abilities.
  • Assigns work to teams. Will regularly evaluates and review work for accuracy and quality of work products. Assists when needed with assignment of service approvals. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Monitors tracking documents which capture provider availability and current needs of the field- supply and demand of services.
  • Will assist providers when there are issues related to service approvals, will facilitate communication between community provider and field staff, and will provide wait list updates.
  • Serve as Liaison on regional issues and activities. Will work with the compliance unit for issues related to referrals and will advise field staff when vendor performance reports should be initiated.
  • Providing updates to field and support staff on practice/procedure changes and status updates as related to contracted client service approvals.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelors degree in Social Work or Business Administration preferred. The selected candidate will have at least one (1) year DCS work experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

In-state travel maybe required.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11)

The ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and the ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
