• This position works with Arizona business-industry leaders to ensure up-to-date technical standards for Career and Technical Education programs and with Career and Technical Education teachers to develop customized end-of-program assessments that address what teachers teach and what students learn.
• Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
• Analyze technical standards for CTE programs and create a schedule for programs that need new or updated standards, inclusive of dates, times, and locations
• Research labor market demand, education and training needs, and nationally recognized industry standards and certifications to be used to develop high-quality standards
• Convene and facilitate Standards Validation Committees (SVC) of business-industry leaders virtually or in person in the development of program standards, compile committee outcomes, follow established protocol for obtaining final approval, and post standards on the ADE/CTE website for teacher access
• Utilize program testing data and the status of test item banks to schedule the Technical Skills Assessment Institutes to convene teacher committees to review, edit, and development assessment items
• Assist in the application process and final selection of teachers for the Technical Skills Assessment Institutes and in identifying and training facilitators to work with the teacher committees
• Participate in the electronic processing, organizing, sorting, and inputting test items in the Technical Skills Assessment database, including the annual, systematic formation of Technical Skills Assessments
• Collaborate in the design and delivery of conference sessions and online training sessions for teachers and administrators regarding standards and assessment
• Participate in regularly scheduled CTE meetings and conferences; attend professional committee meetings, training sessions, and webinars deemed appropriate

• Preparing and presenting information in multiple formats to different audiences in person and virtually
• Understanding of adult learning theory
Applicants must have:
• Secondary/postsecondary teaching experience, or equivalent education/training experience in work environments
• Significant experience convening and facilitating work groups, writing, editing, and proofreading
• Extensive experience preparing and presenting information in multiple formats to multiple audiences
Skills in:
