Our Custodial Worker 2 position provides basic janitorial services, concentrating in heavy work environments with hard surfaced floors; washing walls; spots/shampoos/vacuums carpeting; assists with janitorial supplies distribution. This position works in continuous mobility assignments in multiple areas. Work product consists of cleaned and sanitized offices, break-rooms, restrooms, and common areas. This position also ensures that cleaning products are safely mixed and used and that cleaning supplies are delivered and stored properly. The position also ensures that buildings are secured and is responsible for a safe and sanitary environment in all areas of State buildings, meeting quality control standards established by the State of Arizona. General supervision by the Physical Plant Supervisor or Lead in the supervisor's absence. Heavy lifting is required and requires the ability to pass a post-offer physical exam.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Cleans hard surfaced floors by wet mopping, stripping residue or spotting and buffing. Vacuums carpeting in office buildings, lifts spots with cleaning agents. Maintains stairwells, including cleaning, sanitizing, polishing handrails and chrome fixtures.
Removes trash and collects recycling, including picking up trash in the parking lot and around the exterior of the building.
Uses disinfectants to clean restrooms (Male/Female and Unisex). Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and mirrors and restock disposables (e.g. hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
Dusts, polishes woodwork and furniture. Clean walls, doors, windows, wipe window sills and windows. Maintain day-to-day building cleanliness.

Complete required daily paperwork
Use a computer to enter data and use Google products and email
Safely disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
Exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently
Push, pull, bend, twist and lift up to 50 pounds
Work in a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday
Manage time effectively
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Corporate building janitorial experience is preferred.
This position is contingent upon passing a physical examination and requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License. Candidates for this position must complete and sign PART 1 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR). The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.11 (H) and (I). The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT. Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR.
