TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT / PART TIME
FLSA NON-EXEMPT / SALARY GRADE 15 / HOURLY RATE $18.70
This position provides world class customer service to all internal and external customers at a 1,650 acre public Shooting Range at the Clay Target Center and will fill in when needed at the Rifle Pistol Range.
The Ben Avery Shooting Facility is one of the largest publicly operated shooting facilities in the country. Our world-class shooting range is a City of Phoenix Point of Pride and has received a Five Star rating from the National Association of Shooting Ranges. Located on 1,650 acres in north Phoenix, the Ben Avery Shooting Facility averages more than 240,000 shooters per year. The facility offers a fun and safe environment for shooters of all experience levels and strives to provide a quality recreation experience for all users.
Work schedule will consist of mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends in a noisy environment, which may include working in extreme heat & cold, wind and/or rain.
Major duties include:
- Answer phones from internal and external customers, received by telephone, in person, or through applications and correspondence.
- Capture and enter all data into the database and cash register system. Takes inventory of merchandise, cleaning supplies and office supplies.
- Prepare all invoices and collection fees. Assist with scheduling corporate events and stocking merchandise. Prepare and make bank deposits.
- Make RV reservations and check campers in and out. Sort and retrieve mail.
- Maintain and update all user group agreements, insurance, and other documents in all files.
- Keep track of all host and volunteer hours. Attend 1:1’s and huddle meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: The candidate must have experience in/with: customer service techniques; data entry; cash register operation; office procedures and practices; basic office equipment; file organization; multitasking; recordkeeping; and problem solving.
The candidate must have strong skills in oral, written and interpersonal communication and have experience in accounting practices, and working knowledge of Google Suite; calendar; excellent skills in typing/10-Key; cash handling and multi-tasking abilities.
The preferred candidate will have at least 2 years of administrative experience. Our work environment offers training opportunities and encourages career development.
A level 1 fingerprint clearance card is required. Must be able to legally possess a firearm in accordance with 18 U.S. Code § 922(g). Baseline blood lead and zinc levels and a baseline hearing test will be conducted on an annual basis.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
