        *This position is in office only with no remote opportunity*

        Internship Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00

        Job Summary:

        The Cybersecurity Intern will apply threat assessment and investigative skills in a highly technical setting to locate malware and cyber threats on a large enterprise network, notify affected end users or agencies, generate reports and metric criteria, offer assistance and explanations of threats to end users as needed.

        Major Responsibilitis & Essential Functions:

        • Utilize tools and resources to locate cyber threats, work with a team of people with a cyber security focus, provide regular executive level updates and contribute to team success with ongoing projects. Attend meetings and offer input and suggestions when appropriate

        • Learn how policies and standards are implemented within a public sector enterprise. Will also learn how to perform risk assessments against policies and standards to document risk and threats against state resources

        • Develop skills and learn procedures to effectively identify, detect, contain, eradicate, recover, and document cyber incidents in an enterprise environment to effectively defend against cyber threats

        • Learn how to apply critical thinking skills in a cyber environment and learn how to look for threats and risks against State resources

        • Learn about malware and cyber threat hunting, security analytic tool best practices, vulnerability scanning and reporting

        • Other duties as assigned as related to the position

        Basic Requirements:

        • Must be able to report for duty to the Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) Campus for their shifts located at 18401 North 32nd Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85032

        • Enrolled as a current 2nd year student atParadise Valley Community College

        • Be able to pass a FBI fingerprint background check

        • Must be a US Citizen

        Completed Course Requirements:

        Must have completed the following courses:

        • CNT140AB: Introduction to Networks or CIS190: Introduction to Networking

        • BPC170: Computer Hardware Configuration and Support

        • CIS270: Essentials of Network and Information Security

        • BPC270: Operating System Configuration and Support

        • CIS111: Ethics in Information Technology
