The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Systems Administrator Senior (Desktop Engineer). The Systems Administrator Senior (Desktop Engineer) supports the Desktop Engineering Team by maintaining reliable IT services, resolving complex technical issues, and troubleshooting incidents to resolution. Resolves complex service problems that may arise, conducts routine analysis, identifies and characterizes incidents, and effectively troubleshoots incidents to complete resolution.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Development and deployment of security patches to address IT threats to operational security. Works closely with other teams to find the best way to address emergent and ongoing threats to the overall environment and address issues related to tech debt.
• Support and maintenance of tools used for bare metal imaging including Tanium provision and separate scripting. Includes monthly updates of drivers and security updates as well as testing of new configurations to meet division specific needs.
• Standard endpoint configuration duties including but not limited to patch management, scheduled software deployment, ad hoc software pushes, registry manipulation, Group Policy Objects/Local Policy Objects (GPO/LPO) changes in response to identified vulnerabilities. deployment of enterprise software including Microsoft, but not limited to third-party and in-house applications targeting desktops, servers, mobile (Apple /Android).
• Supports the Tanium solution service delivery to the entire agency. Conducts daily health-checks on assigned accounts. Documents Tanium processes and procedures and implements best practices. Participates in the local Change Control Board. Performs after action and root cause reporting as necessary. Coordinates with agency Operations teams to minimize gaps in Tanium data reporting.
• Cross trains with other members of the Desktop Engineering team to assist with and backup roles inside the Desktop Engineering team. Including Tanium, Microsoft SCCM, Absolute, Bomgar, and other IT Endpoint / Infrastructure applications.
• Monitors IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing system for incoming requests and incidents. Alerts team members about recurring problems. Creates and modifies documentation of issue resolutions within Knowledge Base.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Various infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise.

• Intermediate Scripting of WMI Queries, RegEx, Powershell, or VBScript.

• Microsoft Windows performance monitoring, troubleshooting and networking technologies.
• Google applications.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Microsoft Intune Experience or Tanium Experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• This position may require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)
• Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of experience in systems administration (or equivalent experience).

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
