About Us:
The Arizona America250 Commission was established to plan, develop, encourage and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the impact of the citizens of this state on the nation's past, present and future. With members appointed by the Governor, the Commission is housed out of the Secretary of State's Office. We are seeking a passionate and organized Fundraising Support Professional to join the Semi quincentennial planning and help support our fundraising efforts.

Job Description:
The Fundraising Support Professional will play a crucial role in supporting and expanding our fundraising initiatives through 2026. This temporary, grant-funded position involves coordinating fundraising activities including prospecting and scheduling as well as assisting with donor relationships. This position will be active from July 2025 until July 2026.

Job Duties:

• Identifying Key Contacts: Work with the Commission Fundraising/Development Committee to obtain and confirm contact information for corporate, foundation or individual charitable giving.
• Prospecting: Identify local businesses in major markets across the state who have sponsored events in those markets and should be prospects for supporting Arizona America250.
• Research: Provide background information and previous event support of identified donor prospects.
• Donor Management and Fulfillment: Working with the Commission fiscal sponsor, ensure accuracy of donor database and effective communication between the Executive Director, Secretary of State staff, Chair of the Fundraising committee, and the project’s fiscal sponsor, and ensure donor fulfillment plans are created and executed by appropriate Commission staff.
• Scheduling: Work with relevant parties to schedule meetings.
• Follow Up: Provide materials to prospective donors following the meetings and maintain regular contact with open lines of communication as requests are made.
• Communication: Draft and distribute fundraising materials, including emails, newsletters, and social media posts.
• Reporting: Working with Fiscal Sponsor contact, receive regular reporting on fundraising receipts and progress towards goals and maintain accuracy of balance of funds available related to commission expenses
• Collaboration: Work closely with the fundraising team, the Commission, the Executive Director, and Secretary of State staff to align efforts and maximize impact.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Experience: Proven experience in development or nonprofit work. Understanding of fundraising strategies and techniques to effectively meet targets.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Passion: Enthusiasm for the mission of Arizona America250 and a commitment to making a positive impact.
• Task Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with a high attention to detail.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
• Bi-lingual
• Previous work on bond or override campaigns.
• Experience with fundraising events.
• Familiarity with donor management software platforms.
