The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional Lead. This position works with persons with developmental disabilities in structured daily activities designed to teach them applicable daily living skills. This position participates in the implementation of the member's behavioral treatment programs; facilitates social interactions and activities and helps implement the member's Individual Support Plan (ISP). This position attends ISP meetings, provides basic care and program reviews for the member; assists members with motion exercises under the direction of a professional therapist; makes and attends medical appointments; ensures the member's health, safety and quality of life is in his/her environment. Responsible for maintenance of living environment; planning and implementing excursion and activities, dispensing medications, planning and preparing meals. Assists in implementing behavior building plans with members who may have challenging behaviors including aggression. This position provides support in administrative tasks, such as vehicle reports, adaptive aid equipment tracking and member book audits.
In the absence of the supervisor, this position works as the lead or in-charge person; monitors and directs staff; provides staff training, ensures there is adequate staff coverage and compliance with required regulations. Flexibility in schedule (i.e., work different shift, overtime, and change work locations) as these are 24-hour residential settings. Most schedules worknights, weekends, and holidays. Requires lifting/carrying at least 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling at least 50 lbs.

This position may be eligible to receive a temporary stipend of 10% in addition to base pay beginning in December 2021. If eligible, the temporary stipend amount will be calculated using the employee's base rate of pay and will be reflected in each paycheck.
