Under the direction of the Administrator, this position plans, organizes and directs the Nursing Department of a Medicare certified, skilled nursing facility and the provision of nursing care and services to its Veterans/Members. Oversees training/ education programs for nursing personnel. Determines the appropriate therapeutic, physical and nursing environment, the necessary levels of nursing staff, the operational procedures and the evaluation of outcomes. Ensures all federal and state nursing home regulations are met. Serves as a member of the management team and on a number of facility committees. Interacts, as needed, with key management staff. Serves as a liaison with the Medical Director and providers relative to treatment plans, policies and procedures and regulatory implementation. Learns, implements and monitors Arizona Management System (AMS) methods. Utilizes AMS concepts and tools for problem solving
and continuous work/process improvements and efficiency.
