The Elections Technology Lead supports, installs, monitors, and directs proactive and reactive measures to ensure the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and reliability of the statewide voter registration system as well as other programs/components of the system. Serves as primary contact for system vendor and manages vendor(s) and vendor(s) contract for system and system support. Monitors and manages user accounts for statewide voter registration system as well as security and licensing systems/configurations that work jointly with the system.
Depending on experience and skill set, this position may manage the voter registration and data team.
This position is open to remote work, but the position may require occasional in-office time during peak election season.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to the statewide voter registration system. In addition, works closely with system vendor and system users to address program issues, defects, and system upgrades.
Serves as the primary point of contact to assist with questions arising from the redistricting process that relate to the statewide voter registration database. This includes proactively identifying issues, implementing a plan to assist counties, and troubleshooting issues with the vendor.
Monitor and validate batch jobs and import of files from outside entities (DHS, MVD, Courts, US AG) to ensure proper processing of information. Serves as primary contact with outside agencies for voter registration data purposes. Maintain positive working relationship with all stakeholders of the system.
Assist counties with proper use of voter registration system and system integrations (AVID, my.arizona.vote). Work with SOS AVID team members to develop, maintain, and provide for regular training (new and refresh) of all components of the statewide voter registration system and necessary applications. Work with software vendor to create a current AZ specific user guide for the system.
Develop and execute simple and complex SQL queries, data pulls, ad hoc, and canned reports from the voter registration system. Coordinate with counties to acquire necessary data and files. Consult with elections staff on gleaning data from complex databases. Conduct SQL queries to extract data based on customized data requests.
Maintain all required voter registration system configuration records, billing, system enhancements and other applicable records according to state records retention schedule.
Assist with the Secretary of State's election equipment certification committee. Become familiar with voting equipment and Secretary of State's guidelines on voting equipment standards and processes. Remain up-to-date with federal guidelines and new technology.

- Valid AZ Driver's License
- Obtain Arizona Election Official Certification within 2 years of employment
