Job Summary:

Must be current ADCCR employees with 6 months Sergeant experience, completed promotional probation, and have received at least a "meets expectations" overall rating on their most recent performance evaluation.

The Security Operations Sergeant is responsible for operating the security operation center and maintaining situational awareness across all state facilities. The position will contribute to the oversight of all body-worn camera systems, taser systems, and the operational map and dashboard of significant events as well as the significant incident reporting system and ensuring reports are completed accurately and within expected time frames; operate and dispatch statewide radio transmission; provide support executive level support during special operations, and high-profile visits.

Job Duties:

Oversee Security Operations Center daily functions, maintain situational awareness of all ADCRR facilities and alert for any potential or active incidents, notify executive staff, coordinate resources and response, and provide support, information, and oversight to the impacted facility Assist in conducting threat assessments and gathering intelligence related to security concerns or criminal activity; collaborate with local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies when incidents occur at or near central office; Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of security activities and incidents.
attend required ADCRR training sessions and meetings to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

As a Security Operations Sergeant, you must possess unique knowledge and
skills to carry out your responsibilities effectively. Some of the critical requirements
for this role include:

Federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, and policies related to law enforcement and security operations. Correctional operations and basic principles of inmate and staff safety. Computer systems, security software, and incident reporting systems.
Applying security and surveillance techniques in a professional environment. Interpreting and following ADCRR and state policies, rules, and regulations. Effective written and verbal communication, including clear and concise report writing. Building and maintaining positive working relationships with staff and external partners. Time management, organization, and attention to detail.
Remain alert and responsive during long or irregular shifts. Communicate effectively with staff, management, and members of the public. Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Conduct surveillance and maintain situational awareness in and around Central Office facilities. Prepare accurate and detailed reports of incidents and observations.
Must have a valid Arizona Drivers License.

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

the following requirements apply; Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State
business must possess and retain a current, valid, class-appropriate driver’s license,
complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license
record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or
suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license
record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all
required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state
business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona
Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

● PERFORMANCE EVALUATION – Must currently have a rating of meets
expectations or better.
