What You'll Do:
- As the EMS & Trauma System Auditor, you will work as an auditing/compliance investigator who audits/investigates ambulance services, trauma centers, base hospitals, and other programs to make proper recommendation reports regarding any program integrity-related issues/concerns.
- Examples of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: analysis of complex, detailed statistical compliance data; interpretation of Federal, State, and Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Procedures. Preparation of accurate analysis and investigative audit reports, which include program recommendations regarding program compliance and possible sanctions, and the responsibility of ensuring that the ambulance service and EMCT programs comply with Regulations by conducting compliance investigations and routine monitoring.
- You will be required to also analyze compliance data and interpret Federal, State, and laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. In addition, you'll apply knowledge of auditing, accounting, and recordkeeping.
- You will collaborate with State, Local and National organizations and all other professionals, as needed in various related projects.
- Conducts compliance & performance audits on a wide variety of regulatory programs based on needs of Education and Training, Certification, Trauma Center and Base Hospitals, and CON and Rates. Prepares audit reports and work with internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Prepares notices and correspondences for EMS and Trauma System regulatory programs relating to program performance and non-compliance with the Federal and State Regulations; recommends the appropriate action and prepares notifications to stakeholders.
Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and other necessary data to ensure that programs receive the information required by regulations and Director decisions. Prepares complex recommendations/spreadsheets for potential compliance and audit work.
Develops education and outreach materials for EMS and Trauma System regulatory programs to proactively increase knowledge and understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements, promote best practices, and improve system performance, health, and safety.
-Auditing accounting and auditing methods and systems, and general auditing standards and procedures.
- Federal and State laws, rules & regulations.
- Business law as it related to the regulatory Judicial Court System.
- Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and Lean methodologies.
- Analytical skills.
- Investigation techniques.
- Oral and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with outside partners.
- Compose clear and concise audit reports.
- Accurately complete and assemble audit working papers.

At least two years experience as an Auditor or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field preferred.
Preference is given to National Certified Investigator and Inspector Training (NCIT) and/or has a training background.
Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will make a contribution to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of the total cost of the benefit.
