The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Systems/Network Supervisor. This position will serve as a Enterprise Software Supervisor. This position will be responsible for the daily support and maintenance, governance, and customer service of all enterprise software systems, including but not limited to: Google Enterprise and related technologies, and Microsoft M365. This individual will participate in product demonstrations, facilitate and present for governance and community practice meetings, provide industry best practice guidance to leadership, and follow the agency's change management practices. On top of the daily system maintenance activities, this position will keep the system up to date with system updates and maintain the documentation to reflect the current state.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides proactive guidance and maintenance schedules for systems and platforms for the products and services that are included in the enterprise software service area and others as assigned.
  • Administers the full range of disciplines for enterprise software applications.
  • Supervises and guides a team of system administrators responsible for the maintenance and proactive and reactive services of the enterprise software systems.
  • Provides guidance, assistance, training and education related to enterprise software applications, services, usage, and governance.
  • Reviews configuration change proposals for compliance to established standards, guidelines and policies.
  • Performs system analysis, designs, constructs and tests infrastructure in collaboration with the network system administrators and engineers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Various infrastructure technologies and in house developed applications utilized in the enterprise
  • System monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary

Selective Preference(s):

This ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Google Administration or equivalent experience 1+ years
  • Enterprise Systems Administration experience 4+ years
  • Project Management or equivalent management experience 3+ years
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • This position may require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
  • Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
  • Employees shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 or more years of experience in related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
