This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling).
The individual in this role engages in developing, planning, leading, executing, and sustaining projects to reduce air quality in Arizona for criteria air pollutants. You will be using structured Project Management knowledge and skills to get work done through others, by leading projects and problem solving events, to achieve the outcome of improving air quality in Arizona.
• Ability to understand and interpret environmental rules and statutes; balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks and complete assignments by applicable deadlines; synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly; develop and write technical documentation; and to summarize completed tasks and recommendations to senior staff through reports.
• Knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations, environmental engineering and technology principles and practices, chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations they undergo in the environment, Agency policies and processes.
• Knowledge of project and program management and coordination processes and tools. Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certificate preferred, but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/resource management, chemical/environmental engineering, atmospheric chemistry/science, meteorology or urban planning
• Level 1: 0-2 years’ experience
• Level 2: 2 years’ experience
• Level 3: 5 years’ experience (Master’s degree can substitute for 2 years of experience, Doctorate can substitute for 4 years of experience). Environmental Professional in Training from the ipeg.org required or equivalent certification through an accredited organization.
• Ability to do field work 50-70% of the time
• Valid drivers’ license required
