The DES, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Executive Assistant with the Assistant Director’s (AD) Office, reporting to the Deputy Assistant Director (DAD). This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and administrative expertise to the AD's Office and Program Administrators to develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient operations.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Initiate business reports, research projects, formal recommendations and solutions for resolution of problems related to personnel management, operations, policies, procedures, budget development and control, and organizational planning.
- Prepare and maintain assignment tracking and calendaring for all time-sensitive activities within the assigned area(s).
- Complete research, write recommendations, memos and correspondence. Gather statistical data to prepare a variety of technical/administrative reports & presentation materials.
- Proofread all work processed through the ADs and Administrators' offices to ensure accuracy and timely completion of actions (e.g., assignments, special projects, recurring reports, etc.).
- Represent the Deputy Assistant Director, Assistant Director, Administrators, and/or Division in meetings with other division heads, federal, state, and local governmental officials, private agencies, and community groups. Coordinate resources within the Division and community.
- Consult with senior leaders, staff, subject matter experts, presenters, and audience members to prepare agendas and materials for in-person meetings, virtual meetings, town halls, and special events.
- Coordinate, prepare travel for both in-state and out-of-state business needs.
Knowledge in:
- Concepts of program planning, designing, implementation, and evaluation.
- Local, state, and federal programs and resources, including legislation.
- Internal organization, management, business and public administration practices.
- Interpretation and application of federal laws/regulations and Arizona Revised Statutes pertaining to domestic relations and application of program policy and procedures.
- Meeting preparation, effective organization and management practices, reviewing documents.
- Handling high-level complaints in a timely manner.
Skills in:
- Leadership principles and mentoring.

- Google Tools and MS Office Suite, including effective presentation development.
- Experience with Adobe Express.

- Analyzing data.
- Maintaining customer and employee confidence.
Ability to:
- Learn the child support program and objectives.
- Apply program policy and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Adjust to a constantly changing work environment.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Two (2) years of experience as an administrative assistant or similar work.
- One (1) year of project planning/management experience.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience and background in the development and implementation of improved business practices is preferred.
- Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
