Job Summary:

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Child and Family Protection Division, Protective Services Section is seeking a Unit Office Administrator. This position reports directly to the Division Office Administrator and is responsible for overseeing office administrator functions, staffing duties, and the administrative needs of the assigned unit.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely two days a week, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

The Unit Office Administrator will work closely with the Division Office Administrator, unit support staff, unit attorneys, and Operations Department staff including Procurement, Accounting, Payroll, Facilities, and Information Services. Key responsibilities include:
• Managing, hiring, and training staff within the assigned unit
• Overseeing support staff functions to ensure the needs of Assistant Attorneys General and the courts are met
• Ensuring timely and accurate handling of legal processes such as pleadings and calendar scheduling
• Coordinating administrative workflow and maintaining efficient unit operations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge
•The principles of public administration, organization and management; personnel, supervision, training, procedures and processes of state agency functions
•Organizational and functional structure of state agency; methods and techniques involved in conducting analytical studies of administrative and management practices, methods and procedures
•Practical application of computers and peripheral equipment; inventory control and space management

Skills
•Directing a comprehensive administrative services program for an organization; handling complex analytical and managerial work; supervisory skills; communicating effectively orally and in writing
•Prepare comprehensive analysis and reports, correspondence and other written materials
•Proficient in work processing and spreadsheet techniques

Abilities
•Perform duties independently or under minimal supervision; research, analyze, and make recommendations on administrative management and procedural practices; write logic, comprehensive, concise reports and correspondence
•Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
•Use computer related peripheral equipment, prioritize work efficiently
•Support staff: develop and train others in following procedures and instructions for administrative activities; effectively represent the Division to other agencies and the public

Selective Preference(s):

The preferred candidate will have experience supervising staff, knowledge of dependency law practices and an understanding of the legal environment.

•Travel/driving on state business may occasionally be required. A valid Arizona Driver’s License is required, along with consent to have your driving record run periodically.
