Performs moderately difficult and complex auditing work for state, county and city jurisdictions of intra- and interstate businesses; or corporate income tax of in-state, multi-state, and muti-national taxpayers as assigned ensuring that policies, procedures, and regulations of the Department are consistent for all taxpayers. Determines tax liabilities, prepares working papers and recommendations for the final audit memorandum; may review refund requests and makes determination to either approve or deny. Reviews and researches statutes, administrative code and rulings to determine taxability. May represent the action of informal and informal hearings of tax protesters. Prevents disclosure of confidential tax information, and fully documents audits using workpapers and maintains orderly audit files. Develops audit scopes, objectives and procedures in accordance with generally-accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and government audit standards (GAS). May provide testimony at formal or informal hearings.
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona with occasional in office required meetings.
