Enhance your internship experience by joining our collaborative team of financial auditors conducting financial statement and compliance audits of Arizona governmental entities. Arizona Auditor General. Do meaningful work and gain practical experience in the field of external auditing. You will be assigned to a collaborative team, assisting with financial and compliance audits. Your audit clients may include state agencies, counties, universities, and community college districts, and you may be working with your team on a variety of audits at the same time. You will learn and apply the AICPA’s generally accepted auditing standards, Government Auditing Standards, and other federal auditing requirements. In addition, you and your team will be making a difference in government within the State by providing recommendations to improve internal controls of your clients. You will be paid while fulfilling your internship, and can work hours that accommodate your school schedule.
Hours: Temporary, part- or full-time, 15-40 hours per week. Approximate start date for the Summer internship is late May 2022.
As the ideal candidate, your qualifications will include:
- Progression toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- In your late junior or senior year of your Bachelor’s program having completed the intermediate accounting classes. Master’s degree candidates preferred.
- A current GPA standing in accounting classes of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Access.
