Job Summary:

The Finance Manager, reporting directly to the Executive Director, is responsible for all aspects of the Prescott Historical Society and Sharlot Hall Museum's financial operations, including accounting and budget, audit preparation, human resources, payroll, and insurance.

The Prescott Historical Society's beautiful 4-acre campus is located in downtown Prescott and includes historic buildings, exhibits, a collection of over 40,000 objects, and a research library with an extensive archival collection.

Job Duties:

• Assist the Executive Director in developing and preparing annual budget for Prescott Historical Society, including the addition of the non-appropriated funds provided by the Sharlot Hall Historical Society

• Handle all daily business functions of the Prescott Historical Society and its Sharlot Hall Museum, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and other miscellaneous finance and accounting functions

• Develop a working relationship with Central Services Bureau in Phoenix and serve as the agency representative for the Arizona State Retirement System and Benefits Administration

• Compile, analyze and report financial data, and advise Executive Director and Board of Trustees on financial matters

• Responsible for human resources services for Prescott Historical Society and its Sharlot Hall Museum

• Other duties assigned as related to the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):


• Accounting principles, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) And current accounting revisions HR Best Practices


• QuickBooks, Excel, payroll processing, fixed assets, word processing, and G Suite


• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task, excellent oral & written communication skills, superior time management skills, organizational skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, excellent interpersonal skills

Selective Preference(s):

• Experience with Accounting principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and various software programs

• Previous business office and finance management experience

• At least 5 yrs Business Management experience

• Experience in Non Profits is a strong plus

• Relevant Bachelor's Degree

• MBA and CPA preferred

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see A.A.C. R2-10-207.12)

• This position requires the ability to drive on State business. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment
