Job Summary:

The Grants Coordinator position will function as the primary staff member for the administration of a comprehensive grants development program and will lead the agency's grant development efforts by working closely with staff at all levels to identify and secure alternative funding opportunities. This position will include grant research, identification of appropriate applications, development & writing of grant applications with subject matter experts to secure federal, state, public and private grant sources. This position will be responsible for creating and managing the project timelines to ensure timely submission and implementation of funding. This position will also coordinate the implementation of grant awards and ensure the division's compliance with all grant requirements, including reporting.

Job Duties:
  • Directs, coordinates and develops competitive grant proposals to meet specified agency needs within appropriate designated time-frames and ensure timely submission of grant proposals.
  • Researches and identifies potential grant sources which includes contacting federal, state and local agencies, companies and foundations to pursue grant funds as well as conduct internet, e-Civis and other searches.
  • Ensures successful implementation of funding by the program after grant submission and award. This includes assisting with compliance activities, contract process and other post award activities.
  • Works collaboratively with AHS exhibits and programs staff to continuously monitor division's needs relative to available funding sources/opportunities and works with contract staff to ensure successful implementation of funding to providers if necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Highly motivated with proven experience in writing grants and pursuing funds.
  • Develop concepts and ideas in both an oral and written form.
  • Knowledge of developing working relationships with community agencies, public and private organizations.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of in-depth research techniques to identify opportunities.
  • Writing skills, strong editing skills and written applications.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Computer Skills and experience with Google Suite.
  • Interpersonal communications applicable to the coordination of diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to interpret federal, state and local government laws regarding grant opportunities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
Selective Preference(s):
  • 5 or more years of experience in grant development, including identification of grant opportunities, conducting research, writing, implementing and managing grants. In depth knowledge of business practices. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Driver's License.
