Job Summary:

• This position is on the Food Acquisition and Nutrition Systems team which is responsible for elevating the quality of menus and serving strategies used by Child Nutrition Programs (CNPs) in Arizona. This team supports program operators through a technical assistance platform related to food service operations management and ensures operators have equitable access to serve nutritious foods. This team collects and analyzes metrics on CNP operations in Arizona to ensure all work and efforts are directed by data-driven decisions.
• Rare in-state travel may be required for this position.

The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

 

Job Duties:

• Provide customer service for CNP operators participating the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foods in Schools program in the form of program guidance, technical assistance, and regulatory compliance information
• Convey formal correspondence to program operators in a clear and concise manner
• Provide technical assistance for entities that participate in the USDA Foods in Schools program and manage user access to all applicable federal and state web-based systems per agency procedures
• Assist Director of Food Acquisitions and Nutrition Systems to collect, organize, and archive electronic data
• Schedule internal and external meetings, and provide report summaries
• Completes special projects as directed and related to accurate record keeping, data tracking and contact with customers in a timely manner
• Attend staff meetings, special project meetings, and state provided training sessions
• Coordinate and collaborate with other teams on special projects on an as needed basis
• Monitor the general phone line and email inbox and response to all calls/emails or forward to the appropriate person as necessary, in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
• Federal regulations, state laws, and policies pertaining to all Child Nutrition Programs
• National and local legislative and health and nutrition program issues
• Federal, state, and local procurement laws and regulations
• Awareness of Arizona food systems and supply chain
• Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and 1+years of customer service experience

Skills in:
• Effective written and oral communication
• Organization
• Time Management
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Basic skills in SharePoint

Selective Preference(s):

Preference will be given to those applicants:
• With a Bachelor’s degree
• With experience with Microsoft Access

Retirement:
