Duties and basic tasks include; operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, and repairs, delivery of equipment and materials, environmental compliance, vehicle and equipment care. Depending on the work location and assignment, positions allocated to this classification can encounter extremes of cold and heat, considerable time away from home base, rugged terrain, and high speed traffic conditions. During weather events that cause or could cause hazardous road conditions, overtime may be required; including working outside of normal reporting hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. May require travel away from duty post. The Transport Driver works under supervision with considerable on-the-job training while learning the scope of the duties and basic tasks. Transports large construction equipment, tractor transport, in construction or maintenance. At this level, employees have authority with decisions on work methods and techniques within guidelines and project controls and decisions on road routes in transports.
Preference of six year experience in related field.
