Job Summary:

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Attendant. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community

Job Duties:

• Strips, mops, and waxes tile or linoleum floors; disinfects and maintains all floor finishes
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; replenishes supplies; scrubs walls, cleans window pane and sills, vacuums carpets, empties trash receptacles, and ensures sanitary conditions
• Wipes/disinfects doors, door handles, and other items which may spread germs.
• Dusts furniture, equipment, walls, and light fixtures; disinfects all dining room furniture and other surfaces; cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
• Cleans kitchen and dining room after each meal in ICF and day/work program areas.
• Sanitizes equipment (wheelchairs) and sorts soiled laundry.
• Pressure washes and cleans front entrance, walkways, patios, and patio furniture.
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of various cleaning equipment such as, but not limited to, floor machines and vacuums, carpet cleaners, waxing machines and buffers
• Knowledge of types, usage and mixing of chemicals and various cleaning supplies
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures
• Knowledge of infection control principles
• Knowledge of safety procedures for various tasks and use of equipment
• Knowledge of types of stains
• Skilled in operating floor machines and vacuums
• Skilled in time management
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to understand and follow spoken and written directions
• Ability to communicate with staff
• Ability to report sanitation issues
• Ability to learn and perform proper lifting techniques
• Ability to learn and follow sanitary and safety standards relating to disease and infection control
• Ability to learn and use computer systems (e.g., timesheet entry, computer-based trainings)
• Ability to be self-motivated

Selective Preference(s):

• Prefer housekeeping experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• The position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle.
• Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
