Job Summary:

The Human Resources Analyst Senior will work independently, performing the day-to-day processing of classification and compensation actions under the direction of the Human Resources Operations/Classification and Compensation Manager. The analyst will lead all organizational position structure changes within the agency and provide professional support to management and personnel. Additionally, the analyst will serve as a subject matter expert daily.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Process agency classification actions.
  • Process position's structural changes.
  • Conduct compensation salary analysis and assessments.
  • Lead position structure organizational changes.
  • Develop and update metrics, reports.
  • Provide training and guidance to others.
  • Keep Classification and Compensation standard work updated. 
  • Run monthly reports.
  • Conduct Position Descriptions audits.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Professional HR principles and practices, State Personnel Rules related to area of assignment
  • ADOA (Arizona Department of Administration) Classification and Compensation Guidelines
  • Personnel management principles and practices
  • Data gathering and summarization methods/techniques.
  • The navigation of the Human Resources Information Solution (HRIS) System
  • Business English and proper grammar
  • Personal computers and use of various software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Skills in:

  • Written and verbal communication
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Composing correspondence to include proper format, spelling and language usage

  • Learn the Arizona Management system methodology
Selective Preference(s):

The preferred candidate for the position should have a minimum of two years of state service experience in Human Resources. Additionally, it would be preferable if the candidate is well-versed with Arizona Management System methodology and has expertise in creating formulated Excel spreadsheets.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from DCS Central Registry.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
