The HR Assistant, under minimal supervision, will perform administrative work of considerable difficulty in support of operations within the agency's Human Resources Office. Primarily, this position provides administrative support as required to the Chief Human Resources Officer, as well as to members of the Human Resources team. The HR Assistant will be responsible for organization and management of all hard copy and electronic filing systems in HR, composing letters, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and designing, creating and managing HR forms for agency use. Additionally, this position screens incoming correspondence and phone calls, and provides service as needed to internal and external customers, conducts research as requested or needed for HR programs and operations. The HR Assistant will learn, implement and monitor the Arizona Management System (AMS) methods and utilizes AMS concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvements such as updating and maintaining content and metrics on HR huddle board.

Previous administrative experience in a human resources setting
Position may require driving in the course of conducting State business. Requires the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11).
