Job Summary:

The Department of Child Safety is looking to add a member to our team with prior Human Resources (HR) experience, to serve as the liaison for all Recruitment, Operations, and Classification & Compensation actions.   Reporting to the DCS HR Business Partner, this position functions as the Human Resources (HR) Liaison for the Office of Child Welfare Investigations, a department encompassing over 100 employees.

Job Duties:
  • Processes personnel actions for all employees/positions to include onboarding, separations, promotions, transfers, salary action requests and position reallocations
  • Initiates recruitment process for vacancies and coordinates hiring activities with hiring managers and applicants
  • Maintains the Office of Child Welfare’s organizational charts
  • Reviews processes and identifies/implements process improvement strategies
  • Inputs information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other agency operation systems
  • Attends meetings as necessary
  • Ensures compliance with staff evaluations
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of HR administration
- Personal computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite
- Federal and state employment laws and regulations

Skill in:
- Verbal and written communication
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Time management and prioritization
- Analyzing and evaluating a wide variety of data
- Operating basic office equipment

Ability to:
- Learn and adhere to all ADOA and Departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Apply effective guidance and expertise in the development and implementation of programs, projects, and operating procedures
- Apply administrative and management operations under limited supervision
- Maintain confidentiality
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Meet deadlines and multi-task
- Learn internal database systems such as Human Resources Information Solution (HRIS), Talent Acquisition and Managing Accountability and Performance (MAP)

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate will have two years of work experience in a human resources office and experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

In-state travel is required. Requires the possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration.

Must be able to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card.

Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
