Starting Salary: $87,000 - $98,000 (depending on experience) 

What You'll Do:
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and execute human resources strategy to support the Auditor General’s operations and strategic plan, specifically regarding talent acquisition, training and development, organizational and performance management, succession planning, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement and retention; develop productive working relationships with staff; and coordinate strategic and workforce planning activities.  
  • Effectively manage budgets and understand financial forecasts.
  • Be familiar with HR practices, principles, and applicable employment laws, statutes, rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Design, modify, and implement training programs.
  • Research and analyze organizational trends, including reviewing reports and performance metrics from the State’s human resources information system. 
  • Research, review, and modify administrative policies and procedures to maintain best practices and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Auditor General and executive leadership to understand the Office’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruitment, and retention.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, management, or related field.
  • Three years’ experience (minimum) in HR management.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Strong interest in public service and improving State government.
  • Exemplary analytical, research, interpersonal and conflict management, negotiation, problem-solving, time management, and verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
